I believe that health is not just the absence of disease but a
state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being.
True wellness is achieved by treating the whole person - mind, body, and spirit. My wellness approach is based on integrative medicine principles, which combine traditional Western medicine with complementary therapies. This approach allows me to provide you with a comprehensive treatment plan tailored to your needs and goals.
I'm honored to work with Family Wellness & Health Center in the Virgin Islands to support health in St. Croix, VI, southwest Virginia, and beyond. I'm committed to tailoring my approach to your unique needs, and I'm excited to walk alongside you on your journey towards optimal wellness.

Hello there! My name is Shelia Manning, and I'm a Roanoke Valley native. I graduated from Old Dominion University with a BS in Psychology and a minor in Biology.
After working in business management nationwide, I returned to Virginia to consult for a large food company, focusing specifically on gluten-free diets. During this time, I had the opportunity to meet with dietitians, doctors, and individuals dealing with Celiac disease and gluten sensitivity. I saw firsthand how supporting wellness through diet could change a person from not just surviving but to thriving.
This realization led me to pursue naturopathic medicine and earn my Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine (ND) from Bastyr University in Seattle, Washington. While trained as a primary care physician, I developed a particular interest in Oncology.
Following graduation, I completed a two-year oncology residency at the Goshen Center for Cancer Care, where I provided integrative cancer care and general health support to the Goshen community. I also completed the Plant-Based Nutrition Certificate at the Colin Campbell Center for Nutritional Studies at Cornell. I am currently completing additional courses at Plantrician University, which provides evidence-based education and therapeutic use of plant-based nutrition as the foundation of lifestyle medicine.
